Initial Tone Report:

It's no surprise that there is more than enough sustain. I just love hitting a few notes that simply ring forever...then the controlled feedback starts to build and sing. Too cool!

I'm not sure which model pickups these are, but they have got some heat to them. Lots of midrange that is driving my Allen pretty hard. I especially liked the neck tones. Very wooly and smooth but with a little gain they can really rock.

This piezo is a very sophisticated system. I'll hand it to PRS and LR Baggs, the R&D and design behind it is nothing short of incredible. It luckily all fit into this Thorn quite well. I will not do it ever again though (please don't ask) - it was a lot of work all around and through a regular guitar amp, I can't tell if it's any better than the stock LR Baggs system.

Bill, I hope you have a ton o' fun with this one.

Enjoy and thanks!
Ron

The 4th Artisan Hollow completed thus far, and what a beauty.
This guitar started out as two customer-supplied big chunks of old-growth Brazilian Rosewood that had "issues". A few checks and cracks, a little sap wood, and the occasional bug hole. After careful cutting and arranging, the result is this rippin' two-piece BRW back and side body. I referred to it as the Brazilian Salad Bowl for the few months that I worked on it. Add in a koa top, a nicely figured mahogany neck, and a BRW fretboard and doodads and this is what you get.
