Well, Ron sent the set of birdseye WCR Darkbursts along with The Rose (AKA #72) Took them to my tech today. The metal ears on the pups were too deep for the original routs, so my guy had to take out the old Dremel and remove a little of the wood depth on the sides of each pickup. This guy (Bill from Dave's Sound Repair in Whippany NJ) is a real gifted repair guy, and is the only person other than Ron or Jack Gretz that I would trust with my Thorn. He was utterly blown away by the guitars, I had to take The Rose with me for him to duplicate the wiring for Max & Bear. A stunning success, and these pickups are just out of this world! Here's the post-surgery pic.
