Artisan Standard  # 017


This guitar was the first Artisan Standard built. It’s features include:

 

Bookmatched Black Limba (black korina) flat-top solid body.

Black Limba set neck.

Brazilian Rosewood fretboard, 25” scale, 12” radius, 6150 fretwire.

The carve is Medium ‘C’, similar to a modern Strat with a 1-11/16” Graphtech nut.

Firesun fingerboard inlays in paua abalone with mother-of-pearl centers.

Paua side dots.

Paua inlaid offset purfling surrounds the fretboard and headstock.

Inlaid “T” logo in mother-of-pearl and paua.

Brazilian rosewood truss rood cover with inlaid "Thorn".

Custom Sprezel Ultra-lite locking gold tuners with pearloid buttons and straight string-pull.

Dunlop Straploks – Gold.

Rio Grande Jazzbar & Bluesbar P-90 pickups with gold poles.

LR Baggs gold tremolo & piezo system with active CTRL-X onboard pre-amp.

Controls:

            Master Volume, Tone and 3-way toggle (P-90s).

            Blend knob for piezo.

            3-way mini-toggle for P-90s only / P-90s+Piezo / Piezo only.

            Mini Mono/Stereo push button.

The jack is stereo allowing you to run two amps with a stereo cable, one channel for the P-90s and the other for the piezo. Or, when switched to Mono-mode, both the P-90s and the piezo signals can be blended to one amp using a regular cable.

Deluxe TKL hardshell case included along with hang-tags, catalog and Thorn T-shirt.

 

The guitar has that smokey growl that this wood and pickup combo is well known for, a favorite combo among Thorn owners. Perfect for blues and rock into a mildly hot amp.
